  1. …..McCarthy and the writers made a FATAL mistake, by strongly suggesting an unmistakably-PARTISAN, emotionally-IGNORANT judgment levied when Shank’s character NOT-so-tacitly SCOLDS those who would suggest something is ‘fake news’ (REGARDLESS whether both sides’ idealogues FREQUENTLY use the term, HARD to disbelieve HE / she WASN’T carelessly talking down to MUCH of ‘Alaska Daily’s audience) – CAN’T say if avoiding THAT and perhaps OTHER contemporary pitfalls WOULDN’T have caused any viewing erosion – but, TOO bad, because this show COULD’VE done a LOT to make MORE Americans AWARE of indigenous women’s POOR treatment not JUST to far northern extremes but, NATIONWIDE : (

  2. I enjoyed Alaska Daily but such a ridiculously long break in the middle of a 1st season is fatal.
    By the time it came back on our screens I had lost all interest in the characters.
