The Last Of Us Season 2 Renewal Set By HBO – Release Date Update

The Last Of Us will stick around for a while on HBO.

The cabler has renewed the post-apocalytic drama series for Season 2, giving fans even more reason to become invested.

The renewal comes after two successfully-rated episodes of the series, which premiered to an audience of 4.7 million viewers domestically and has since grown to almost five times that size, now surpassing 22 million across HBO Max and linear telecasts in the U.S., per Nielsen’s and first party data.

Episode 2 saw even more growth with 1 million new viewers tuning in compared to the series’ premiere, amounting to the largest week two audience growth for any HBO original drama series in the network’s history.

The Last Of Us concludes its 9-episode first season on March 12, 2023.

UPDATE: The Last Of Us Season 2 has been delayed and is now expected to air in 2025 instead of 2024.
