5. I Love That for You (Season 1)

“I Love That for You” relentlessly pursues its main character’s distorted vision of life as a series of little humiliations best borne by becoming the punchline. This funny new comedy is based on actual events and follows childhood leukemia survivor Joanna Gold (Vanessa Bayer) as she pursues her longtime ambition of hosting a home shopping channel. Bayer is backed up by a stellar ensemble that includes Molly Shannon and Jenifer Lewis, and the series manages to strike a delicate tone.
4. The Lincoln Lawyer (Season 1)
May 13, 2022 | Netflix
Mickey Haller, an unconventional optimist who operates his law office out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car, is played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo in David E. Kelley’s version of Michael Connelly’s novel The Brass Verdict. The surprises aren’t quite as big as those in Presumed Innocent, but they’re interesting enough to keep you intrigued, and with so many talented performers on hand, this is a McConaughey series worth watching.
3. The Time Traveler’s Wife (Season 1)
May 15, 2022 | HBO
Niffenegger’s bestselling 2003 novel about a lady who has been in love with a guy who time travels at odd intervals her whole life is being adapted by Steven Moffat (Doctor Who, Sherlock). However, in the hands of HBO and featuring Rose Leslie and Theo James, this incredibly unusual love tale appears to be getting its due this year. You should be ready to shed lots of tears for this one.
2. The Staircase (Season 1)

In an eight-episode limited series, Oscar winner Colin Firth (The King’s Speech) plays author Michael Peterson. With a star-studded cast (Toni Collette, Juliette Binoche, Parker Posey, Dane DeHaan, Odessa Young, and Sophie Turner), it’s bound to be popular. The plot takes Michael Peterson, a mystery author suspected of killing his wife Kathleen after she was discovered dead at the foot of a staircase at their house, and the 16-year legal fight that ensued.

Later this spring, Netflix’s teenage horror giant will make its long-awaited comeback. Fans will be returning to the Demogorgon-infested Hawkins, Indiana, after nearly three years. El (Millie Bobby Brown), Joyce (Winona Ryder), Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), and Will (Noah Schnapp) are already living in sunny California, long far from Hawkins, and the town’s worryingly easily accessible to the Upside Down, in the fourth season of the 1980s-set fantasy thriller. Aside from hoping that Hopper and his dad bod find some way to reunite with adoptive daughter Eleven, it’s intriguing to see which sci-fi stories this show will now pay tribute to as the final chapter approaches.
