Monarch Season 2 Cancelled By Fox

Monarch has failed to hit the right notes for Season 2. Fox has cancelled the multi-generational drama after just one season. The 11th and final episode has aired, signalling the conclusion of the series.

Monarch is a multi-generational musical drama series starring Susan Sarandon, Trace Adkins, Anna Friel, Joshua Sasse, Beth Ditto, Meagan Holder, Inigo Pascual, Martha Higareda and Emma Milani. The show follows the lives of the Romans – America’s leading family in country music. Head of the dynasty is Dottie Cantrell Roman (Sarandon), a tough-as-nails matriarch, and her beloved husband Albie (Adkins). Dottie and Albie’s success, however, hides an ugly secret. Middle child Luke (Sasse) is at the helm of Monarch Entertainment, while youngest daughter Gigi (Ditto) has always felt like an outsider despite her incredible singing voice. Along comes Catt Phoenix (Higareda), mother to Ana (Milani), a young singer trying to get signed to the Roman’s label. The Romans must face the chaos created by these two new arrivals, as well as protect their legacy and Nicky’s (Friel) quest for stardom. Monarch is a powerful story driven by family, love, ambition and music.

Monarch is not currently being touted for a second season on another network or platform.
