About Expedition Unknown TV Series

Seasoned adventurer Josh Gates is bringing viewers across the globe as he continues to investigate and solve the world's most intriguing mysteries. In the new season, he travels throughout five continents to dive into sunken tombs in Africa, reclaim stolen and looted statues in Cambodia, and discover a pirate's lost treasure in the frigid waters of the UK - with one excursion giving him the most terrifying moments of his career.

In the two-part season premiere, Josh travels 6,000 miles to the tiny, South Pacific nation of Micronesia to investigate Operation Hailstone, America's daring response to the attack on Pearl Harbor. Using cutting edge technology and eyewitness accounts, Josh dives in to help Project Recover on their mission to locate 40 downed planes and 200 American heroes lost in the mission, leading to a stunning and historic discovery.

Throughout the season, Josh will also set sail into the Bermuda Triangle to seek the richest stash of sunken gold in the Americas, journey across northern Europe in search of a Viking king's tomb and treasure, use a long-forgotten map to locate a lost Maya city, and team up with a former FBI agent to chase stolen loot and priceless historical artifacts from America's most notorious couple, Bonnie and Clyde. Driven to find the truth behind the world's most captivating legends, Josh Gates is on a mission for answers. Expedition Unknown chronicles his global adventures as he investigates iconic unsolved events, and hunts for lost cities, buried treasures, and sacred artifacts.

    Hi,

    We are big fans on all of Josh Gates shows. We heard that he was supposed to start back up again as of last week, but it hasn’t been on either last week or this week. Can you tell us what’s going on? We are located in Westminster, CA and have Dish network. Please advise us on how to find him on TV again because we are missing his shows deeply.

    • All I’m seeing billed as NEW are rehashed shows from the past that have a few new clips added. That’s misleading. Further, if Discovery + keeps adding more and more popups, large banners, and distracting Trivia I won’t watch it anymore, although I enjoy the series.

    • Why isn’t Expedition Unknown with Josh Gates not on? My family always enjoys watching his series and are so disappointed that it is not on. Please bring him back!!

  4. Expedition Unknown is a great adventure, week after week. I hope it is brought back for season 11. If it is nor brought back, shame on you, but you could rerun the series from the beginning. I would hope more people are interested in Expedition Unknown than in the Moonshiners!

    Josh Gates’ enthusiasm is contagious and his presentations and interactation with experts and the indigeous folks are enjoyable and educational. This is the only way most of us will ever get to partake on such adventures.

  7. I notice that the responsible voices to answer the questions about the Josh Gates program are conspicuously silent and misleading, posting out-dated information as a smoke-screen?? If the network can’t be responsible to the viewers, who provide their advertisers income, I suggest that ALL programs on this network could be boycotted! I’ve lost the feeling that they are honest! We’re asking simple questions and being “okey-doked”!

IF I lost the ability to watch Expedition Unknown because they want more money to watch it by having to go to Discovery plus instead of just my Sling account then I say good riddance to Josh Gates and his shows! I’m fed up with continuous price hikes just because they know I watch certain shows.

  9. The show was a very good one- we must consider the amount of work that goes into the production of such a show; foreign location, implications and restrictions, constraints. Many obstacles. Bring it back if it can be done and all major stakeholders agree to do so .
