Los Angeles, Calif. (June 6, 2022) - Spectrum Originals takes their viewers on a dream family vacation that quickly turns into a nightmare as dark secrets trigger fears of betrayal. Based on T.M. Logan's bestselling book, THE HOLIDAY was adapted by renowned writer Michael Crompton (Silent Witness, Safe House, Ransom). Produced by Projector Pictures, Clapperboard Studios, and Night Train Media in association with All3Media International, all four one-hour episodes will stream exclusively for Spectrum subscribers free On Demand (and without ads) on Monday, June 20.

The thriller begins as a family heads off on an idyllic holiday and is joined by old university friends. However, when Kate (Jill Halfpenny) discovers that her husband is having an affair with one of her best friends, the holiday quickly takes a turn as she tries to bring the truth to light. Tensions run high and fingers of suspicison are pointed everywhere as the group comes to terms with what is happening and the layers of lies are uncovered.

THE HOLIDAY was shot in and around Malta, located in the Mediterranean Sea, south of Sicily. It is led by Jill Halfpenny (Kate), Owen McDonnell (Sean), Lara McDonnel (Lucy), and Aidan McArdle (Alistair). The series also stars Siobhan Hewlett (Rowan), Liv Mjönes (Jenny), Andrew Macklin (Russ), Cat Simmons (Izzy), Shaun O'Callaghan Wade (Jake), Milly McCann (Odette), and Aidan McCann (Daniel).

Comissioned by Sebastian Cardwell, in collaboration with Rachel Gesua and Trevor Eve from Projector Pictures, Mike Benson from Clapperboard Studio, Herbert Kloiber and Olifia Pahl from Night Train Media and Dave Clarke from NENT Studios UK, THE HOLIDAYwas produced by Julie Ryan and directed by Laura Way. The series was distributed globally by All3Media International.

The four-part thriller has been acquired by Disney in a pan territory deal covering The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg and by Nordic streamer Viaplay, where it is currently available in Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Sweden.

BBC Studios has also acquired the four-part series for Australian audiences and TVNZ has taken the series in New Zealand.
